What TideAhead Collects

TideAhead has no user accounts and does not ask for personal profiles. Our hosting and security systems receive standard request details such as IP address, browser type, page URL, and request time. We use short-lived logs to keep the site running, investigate errors, and prevent abuse.

Public Data and Maps

TideAhead's servers retrieve tide, weather, and astronomy data from public agencies. Your browser loads map tiles from the map provider, so that provider receives the usual technical details sent with a web request. We do not send your search text to advertisers.

Saved And Recent Stations

Saved and recently viewed stations stay in your browser. The saved details are the public station name, station ID, state, page route, and recent view time. TideAhead does not upload them to an account. Clear this site's browser data to remove them.

Analytics

TideAhead uses Google Tag Manager to load approved analytics tags. Those tags may measure page views, navigation, and feature use. We use those totals to find broken paths and decide what to improve. Your privacy choices apply to the tags loaded through Tag Manager.

Advertising and Cookies

When advertising is enabled, TideAhead uses Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to serve, personalize and measure ads. Google's advertising cookies can support ads based on visits to TideAhead and other sites.
