Information TideAhead Processes

TideAhead does not currently offer user accounts or ask visitors to submit personal profiles. Like most websites, its hosting and security infrastructure processes technical request data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL and request time to deliver and protect the service. Operational logs may be retained for a limited period for reliability, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.

Public Data and Maps

Tide, weather and astronomy information is retrieved from public agencies by TideAhead's servers. Interactive map tiles are loaded by the visitor's browser from the map provider, which receives the technical information ordinarily sent with a web request. TideAhead does not send a visitor's search text to an advertising provider.

Saved And Recent Stations

TideAhead can save favorite stations and remember recently viewed stations in the browser's local storage. This preference data contains the public station name, station ID, state, route and recent view time. It is not uploaded to a TideAhead account. Clearing site data in the browser removes it.

Analytics

TideAhead uses Google Tag Manager to deploy approved measurement tags. Those tags may measure page views, navigation and feature use so the service can understand traffic and improve its pages. Tag Manager itself is a delivery system; the privacy choices available to a visitor apply to the measurement tags configured inside it.

Advertising and Cookies

When advertising is enabled, TideAhead uses Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses or similar identifiers to serve, personalize and measure ads. Google's advertising cookies can support ads based on visits to TideAhead and other sites.

Learn how Google uses information from partner sites in Google's partner-sites notice. Visitors can manage personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings.

Consent and U.S. State Privacy Choices

TideAhead will use a Google-certified consent platform where required and will configure regional privacy messages before ads are activated. Available choices may include personalized, non-personalized or limited ads depending on location, consent and applicable law.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated as TideAhead adds services or its data practices change. The date above identifies the latest published version.
